Kaden Perry scored 15 points as the Tigers qualified for the bi-district tournament by winning a play-in game at Olympia High.

Brendan Beal added 13 as the Tigers (14-7) kept their season alive with a third straight win.

Battle Ground travels to face Curtis (16-4) of University Place in a first-round game Thursday.

“We’ve got some momentum and we’re playing with some confidence heading into a tough matchup,” said Tigers coach Manny Melo.

Battle Ground led 36-24 at halftime and gradually pulled away from Decatur (9-13).

“We knew they were going to be pretty hectic on defense,” Melo said. “They played us tough all night. We just executed down the stretch to pull away.”
