Don’t break out the snow shovels just yet.
While snow showers were expected to begin early Monday morning, it likely will not stick for long in most areas of Clark County, according to the National Weather Service.
Below 500 feet in elevation, little to no snow is expected, Amanda Bowen, a meteorologist with the weather service, said Sunday night. Less than 2 inches of snow are expected above 500 feet, and as much as 4 inches are expected above 1,000 feet.
“There might be a little bit on grassy surfaces, dirt areas and things like that, but we’re not going to see much in terms of impact,” Bowen said. “It’s going to be in that hit-or-miss variety and in little bursts.”
Snow showers are expected to taper off by Monday night, Bowen said.
The weather system originated in the Gulf of Alaska. Because it traveled over the Pacific Ocean, it will not be as cold as it could have been, Bowen said.
