Clark County — Two neighborhood projects were awarded funding as part of Vancouver’s 2018 Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program, which helps residents manage and address traffic within Vancouver neighborhoods. The two projects are slated for construction this summer. One of the projects is a series of speed cushions on Northeast 141st Avenue between Northeast 28th Street and Northeast 39th Street in the Parkside neighborhood. The other project calls for crosswalk enhancements including pavement striping and pedestrian-activated rectangular rapid-flash beacons on Northwest Lincoln Avenue at the intersection of Northwest 44th Street and West 43rd Street. Funding for these projects, nearly $300,000, comes from the city’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program, which uses a combination of resources, including Real Estate Excise Tax and Vancouver Street Funding Strategy revenues. This is the sixth year for the city’s revitalized Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program.
