Peyton Brammer scored a game-high 40 points, including 17 of the Hawks’ 21 fourth-quarter points to help Hockinson’s playoff push behind a 71-66 home win over Washougal.
The junior scored 29 points in his season debut in Tuesday’s win over Ridgefield, making his return after suffering a foot injury during November’s football playoffs.
Friday, Brammer had 23 points through three quarters. And all 17 points were needed in a back-and-forth game, coach Jon Warner said.
The Hawks trailed by eight at halftime.
“When it mattered most,” the coach said, “he rose to the occasion.”
The win puts Hockinson in a tie for third place with Ridgefield with one regular-season game remaining Tuesday hosting Woodland.
