PacificSource donates $30,000 to free clinic

BAGLEY DOWNS — The PacificSource Foundation for Health Improvement donated $30,000 to the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, 4100 Plomondon St., Vancouver. The one-year grant will support community health workers care for diabetic patients. The position will “help foster trust between patients and the medical providers as they learn about and manage their diabetes,” according to a news release. Based in Springfield, Ore., the nonprofit foundation donated $262,000 in grant funding to nine nonprofit organizations in Oregon, Montana, Washington and Idaho. “Working in partnership to improve community health is a shared mission of PacificSource and our foundation, and we are pleased to announce this latest round of funding to these deserving nonprofits,” Marian Blankenship, executive director of PacificSource’s Foundation for Health Improvement, said in a news release.
