Head coach Kim Karnofski said the Rockets’ nonleague win was a good building block, as the team continues to find new offensive ways without point guard Brooke Wirkkala.

Wirkkala, who was averaging better than 20 points per game, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her knee in a loss Dec. 13 to Montesano.

Payton Kessler scored 10 of her team-high 19 points in the third quarter when the Rockets outscored the Timberwolves 22-8.
