An allegedly intoxicated motorcyclist was injured Thursday night when he was forced to swerve off southbound Interstate 5 near Woodland to avoid a pickup truck, according to Washington State Patrol.
A crash report by the troopers does not include much information about the driver of the truck, because the dark-colored dually continued down the freeway.
Both the truck and motorcycle were southbound on I-5 around 11:30 p.m., approaching Milepost 20. The motorcycle, driven by 59-year-old Vancouver resident Robert K. Solverson, was in the left lane, according to the crash memo.
The truck reportedly swerved from the right lane into the left lane toward Solverson, who veered to avoid a crash “and ended up in the ditch,” the troopers said. He was wearing a helmet, they said.
