Girls basketball: Heritage 55, Ridgefield 45

Katie Peneueta scored 19 points and Keanna Salavea added 14 as the Timberwolves used a big second quarter to win on the road.

Heritage outscored the Spudders 27-7 in the second quarter to take a 37-14 lead at halftime.

“We got into a little foul trouble, and they hit a lot of open 3s,” Ridgefield coach Billy McKinney said. “But we came to life in the second and made more of a game of it.”

Sarah Rosenbaum added 13 for Heritage. Courtney Beyer led Ridgefield with 14 points.
