A recognizable face will head the Clark County Fair next year.
John Morrison, who retired in 2018 at the age of 75 after a decade as the fair’s manager and CEO, has returned to his position. His return comes after Mickey Webb, who succeeded him, stepped down unexpectedly on Oct. 16 due to personal reasons, fair spokesman Jim Beriault said.
The Clark County Fair Board reinstated Morrison to oversee operations, marketing and planning for next year’s fair, according to a news release. He will manage a staff of 25 full-time and part-time employees, 265 seasonal employees and 1,000 volunteers. The fair regularly draws hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
“We are glad to have John back for at least the 2020 fair season,” Scott Horenstein, chairman of the Clark County Fair Board, said in the news release. “His experience and leadership is greatly appreciated.”
Morrison could not be reached for comment before press deadline.
Prior to his first stint leading the fair, Morrison spent six years as chairman of the Clark County Fair Association and before that, 10 years as a volunteer. Before moving to Clark County to care for his aging parents, he served 28 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a colonel.
