Abby Huston’s 8-foot runner at the buzzer in overtime for Woodland was blocked by Hudson’s Bay, as the Eagles hung on for a 67-65 overtime victory in Wednesday’s nonleague girls basketball game.
Huston’s 3-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime tied at 57. The Eagles led by as many as six in the four-minute overtime session before the Beavers cut it to one possession. Bay led 67-65 with 4.6 seconds left.
Jaydia Martin had 20 of her game-high 29 points in the first half to lead the Eagles (3-1). Kamelai Powell added 26.
Woodland played without leading scorer Payten Foster, but got contributions from Kaily Christensen (22 points), Kelly Sweyer (15) and 10 points apiece by Nicole Guthrie and Kaija Olson. Guthrie also had 21 rebounds for Woodland.
