Beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Clark County Elections will accept candidate filings for Drainage District No. 2, Drainage Improvement District No. 5 and Diking Improvement District No. 14.
The filing period will end at 5 p.m. Friday.
If only one candidate files for any of these three positions, that candidate will be deemed elected and an election will not be held.
If two or more candidates file, an election will be held on Feb. 4.
To be eligible to file or to vote within each of these districts, a person must have been a registered voter in Washington for at least 30 days and also must have owned property within the district for at least 30 days.
Any corporation or partnership owning property in one of these districts has the right to appoint a qualified voter of the district as its representative to vote for a candidate for office within the district.
