Volunteer Opportunities

C-Tran is in need of volunteer travel ambassadors to give one-on-one or group training sessions to seniors and people with disabilities wanting to safely and confidently access and use C-Tran’s fixed route services. A four-hour training session is provided. A minimum commitment of four hours per month is required.

Catholic Community Services is looking for volunteer drivers to transport the low-income, elderly, or people with a disability to their medical appointments, the grocery store, or other essential errand locations. A clean driving record, insurance and a safe vehicle are required. All training, support, and excess auto liability insurance while driving will be provided.

Columbia Springs Stewardship Saturday welcomes volunteers to help maintain the site by planting native plants, removing invasive species, conducting trail maintenance and improving the accessibility and safety of the site. All supplies are provided, and groups are welcome. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 14.

Evergreen Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials. Many volunteer roles are needed, including development committee members, development interns, family services interns, construction volunteers, office and administration support, and with occasional mailings.

Hope Dementia Support Group seeks volunteers to provide occasional substitution for vacations, attend bimonthly facilitator meetings, and attend various fundraisers and activities.
