The advertised round of hot weather is upon us today and tomorrow and will only last a couple of days, thank goodness. I would say highs today with east winds will shoot up into the mid-90s and despite a calming of those winds Wednesday, we still stay in the mid-90s or maybe a degree or two higher. Pushing 100? Hopefully not.
And if that weren’t enough, some old leftover tropical moisture is forecast to make its way northward, maybe along the Cascades Thursday making the possibility of thunderstorms a reality. Maybe a sprinkle locally? Much of the Willamette Valley is under a fire weather watch.
A heat advisory has been issued for Clark County today and tomorrow. Keep hydrated, care for pets and the elderly. Best to stay in a building with air conditioning during the hottest afternoon hours. Overnight lows tonight remain in the 60s, so not good sleeping weather for many.
Keep those outdoor flowers watered today with east winds. Things will dry out quickly. Cooler ocean air will filter inland Thursday but we still enjoy highs in the 80s right through the long holiday weekend. Some morning clouds are most likely to temper the afternoon high temperatures. At least some relief later in the week.
