Woodland — The inaugural Lucky Triathlon Festival brought 532 athletes to Horseshoe Lake in Woodland. Competitors came from Washington, Oregon, Alaska, California, Montana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Utah and Canada. There were 47 kids who competed in the kids triathlon for free and another 48 who participated in the 5K for free. The event raised more than $1,500 for Woodland Action, a local nonprofit that runs a food bank and thrift store. Woodland Public Schools’ athletic programs provided water stations and finish-line volunteers, and the event raised more than $2,500 for the district’s sports programs.
