Three people were injured in a single-car crash Thursday morning in Salmon Creek.

Law enforcement, fire and medical personnel were dispatched at 8:32 a.m. to 12215 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave. They found a heavily damaged, dark-colored 2015 BMW 320i off the road, Clark County Fire District 6 spokesman Dave Schmitke said.

The BMW was headed north and went around a corner when it hit a small metal pole, dislodging it from a cement base. After rolling over, the car came to rest on its wheels on the opposite side of the street, Schmitke said.

While the driver exited the car, front and rear passengers were trapped inside with traumatic injuries, Schmitke said. Firefighters used extrication tools to remove the passenger’s side doors to free them and cut a battery cable.

“There were a lot of mangled parts on that car,” Schmitke said. “They ripped that car apart.”

The three occupants were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Their identities and conditions were unavailable.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office traffic unit is investigating and could not be reached for comment.
