Firefighters responded to a duplex fire Tuesday morning in Vancouver’s Fourth Plain Village neighborhood.
Multiple fire engines were dispatched at 11:07 a.m. to the 3700 block of Rossiter Place for a report of a residential fire.
A caller told emergency dispatchers that flames were coming from the back of a two-story duplex, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian. The initial crew to arrive quickly doused the flames and reported the fire was extinguished about five minutes after responding.
However, smoke continued to pour from the attic. Firefighters entered the space and found a fire but put it out within minutes, according to scanner traffic.
The fire marshal was requested to investigate the cause.
