Clark County Public Works Parks Division needs volunteers to help with the Frenchman’s Bar Park litter cleanup. Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 24 and Sept. 28 at the park, 8800 N.W. Lower River Road. Volunteers will be collecting litter throughout the park, along the banks of the Columbia River, and at Blurock Landing. These efforts will help prevent trash from entering the Pacific Ocean. Parking passes will be provided. Volunteers should be able to navigate uneven terrain, bend, crouch, kneel and reach. No minimum age.
Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools Lunch Buddy Program seeks adult mentors for elementary school-age children. Volunteers are paired with a student and spend 45 minutes a week, eating lunch, playing board games, chatting, reading or doing crafts. This is an at-school only program.
Meals on Wheels People are partnering with Safeway stores throughout Clark County Sept. 5, 6 and 7 for the Donate Dinner fundraising campaign. Volunteers are needed to stand at supermarket doors and hand out flyers giving information on how they can donate dinner to a home-bound senior.
RockSolid Community Teen Center seeks volunteers from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays to help serve daily snacks, work in the cafe, or hang out with the youth playing games or helping with crafts.
