ESTHER SHORT — Furry Friends, a nonprofit, volunteer no-kill shelter, raised $940 at the Recycled Arts Festival in June. The organization successfully microchipped 14 dogs and cats, and also held a raffle to win a sculpture. Microchips help reunite lost pets with their owners. Additionally, five adoption applications were filled out for cats. Funds will help with medical supplies for cats and kittens. The group’s mission is to help abused, relinquished and homeless cats by providing spay and neutering services, medical care and foster shelter for as long as it takes for a pet to find a home.
