A power outage Friday morning in west Vancouver affected about 3,750 customers.

The outage happened just before 7 a.m. and was based at Clark Public Utilities’ F Street substation in the Arnada neighborhood, the utility’s spokeswoman Erica Erland said in an email.

Some of the customers affected by the outage may have lost power multiple times while the problem was being fixed. The majority of customers had their power restored within 30 minutes; for others, it took about an hour, Erland said. About half of the customers were without power for only a few minutes, she said.

Traffic lights went dark in and around downtown Vancouver from at least the intersection of Kauffman Avenue and West Mill Plain Boulevard to the east to Interstate 5.

The utility is continuing to look into the cause of the outage.
