Nominees for Week 6 spring sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending April 27.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

ALEX BISHOP, WOODLAND BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Bishop tied a state-best high jump mark this season for all classifications by clearing 6-8 at the Panther Invitational.

SHANE JAMISON, CAMAS BASEBALL: Jamison went 4 for 6 with four runs and the go-ahead RBI against Skyview for the first-place Papermakers.

KAIA OLIVER, RIDGEFIELD SOFTBALL: Oliver struck out 25 over 14 innings and went 3 for 8 with a home run for the Spudders.

MAKS YURICHKO, COLUMBIA RIVER SOCCER: Yurichko had two goals and three assists in a 6-1 win over R.A. Long for the league champion Chieftains.

MADDY STARWALT, SKYVIEW GIRLS GOLF: Starwalt shot a 2-over par 39 at Tri-Mountain to lead the Storm past Union.
