It was forecast to drop into the 30s early this morning as a cool and dry air mass was over us. I would expect that if winds remained light, some of our outlying friends around the county had a freeze good enough to kill or damage tender plants.
Frosts are common in areas north of Hazel Dell well into the month of May and a few cold spots into early June. It should be warmer the next few nights but still on the cool side with 38-42 degrees common in most urban areas.
On Friday afternoon, we were pushing 70 degrees for a high temperature but after the cold front that moved through Saturday morning, we were trying to reach 60 degrees by afternoon. Those breezes were chilly, weren’t they? We should remain dry the next five days with only a chance of a sprinkle by the weekend.
As that mostly dry cold front passed through Clark County early Saturday, we did get a few sprinkles or light showers. Vancouver officially picked up 0.01 of an inch.
