WOODLAND — Students in the AP Government class at Woodland High School recently participated in a debate project that analyzed the merits of Supreme Court cases, which they studied throughout the year. The annual debate was started by teacher Sharon Conditt. Teams debated why their case held more significance than their opponents’ while adult volunteer judges observed. Winning teams advanced to play in a tournament. “They learn more than just the cases featured in the tournament — they learn how to engage with an opposite viewpoint in a diplomatic and professional manner,” Conditt said.
