Esther Short — Nearly 1,800 runners and walkers competed in the fifth annual Couve Clover Run in March, which raised more than $6,000 for Share, the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools and multiple other nonprofits, schools, teams and clubs. Competitors traveled to the event from Washington and Oregon, as well as Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, New York and Virginia. It was the biggest turnout in the event’s history, and more than 350 kids participated in the 5K race for free. Most racers dressed up in costumes, and the Fort Vancouver Pipers and Drummers provided an Irish vibe for the start/finish line.
