Letter: Trump is habitual liar

By Carl Scheuffele, Vancouver
Published: April 23, 2019, 6:00am

Why does Donald Trump lie? It seems that even with simple things like where his father was born, he has to lie. Why? He can’t help himself. He has been lying all his life and gotten away with it. You may call it a psychological complex, a condition, whatever. Simply put, he is a habitual liar — and he has turned it into a successful business, so why should he change?

He has stated many times how he has found the job of being president unsatisfying. I guess not serving his country lacks the rush of creating a charitable foundation for himself based entirely on lies. And now he is lying to our entire nation and the Republican Party, and the majority believe every word.

Who said honesty is the best policy? Whoever it was, Trump obviously never met him.
