Vancouver-based Northwest Pipe Co. announced Monday that a fire damaged the coatings building at the company’s Saginaw, Texas, facility over the weekend.
There were no injuries reported, according to a statement from CEO Scott Montross, and the company has notified its insurance provider about the incident. The statement described the fire as accidental.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed, Montross said, and the coating building will be out of commission in the meantime. Any lost production at the Saginaw facility will be absorbed by the company’s other production facilities, he said.
In addition to the Saginaw plant, the company operates three plants in California, and one each in Oregon, West Virginia, Missouri and Mexico.
