The best photo-portrait studio in the region is here, outdoors, in the fertile dirt between the Lewis and Columbia rivers. On Monday, families with children and photographers with itchy fingers flocked to the tulip fields at Holland America Flower Gardens, 1066 S. Pekin Road in Woodland, to make the most of sunny yellows, flaming reds, dazzling whites and sweet pinks — and take a few home, too. The annual spring tulip celebration is underway at Holland America; explore unique colors, textures and varieties for free in the “show field” before picking your own, at 50 cents a pop, in the U-pick field. Holland America is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends, through May 12.
