Meadow Homes — Local firefighters teamed up to help Alcoa Little League after a fire in late March at the Fort Vancouver High School baseball announcer’s booth destroyed the league’s score tower and its contents, including equipment and decades of mementos. On April 4, Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle and the International Association of Fire Fighters local 452 chapter delivered a new pitching machine to the league. Funds for the machine came from McEnerny-Ogle and the local union’s program, Vancouver Community Assistance Fund, which offers aid to members of the community in need. Along with McEnerny-Ogle, also in attendance that day were Alcoa Little League President Justin Cvitkovich, Vancouver Fire Department Capt. Matt Thierfelder, firefighter Casey Holmes and Vancouver Fire Department’s engine 3.
