The sacrifice of U.S. Army Spc. Eric D. King, killed in action in 2006, will be honored Monday morning on the 13th anniversary of his death at the Clark County War Memorial at Vancouver Barracks.

The Community Military Appreciation Committee is asking the Patriot Guard Riders and community members to stand with the committee in remembrance during Monday’s ceremony.

King died with three other soldiers April 22, 2006, when a roadside bomb exploded during military operations in Baghdad.

Family and guest arrival will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, followed by the “Never to be Forgotten” ceremony starting at 11 a.m. The remembrance ceremony is scheduled to conclude at 11:45 a.m.

The Clark County War Memorial is at Fort Vancouver Way and McClellan Drive at the Fort Vancouver National Site.
