Ginn Development of Vancouver has submitted plans to the city of Vancouver to construct two buildings for low-income senior housing.

One building would have 148 residential apartment units and the other would have 72 units. The 3.51-acre property at 12005 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd. is zoned community commercial. The document does not include a project timeline.

“The project will meet the requirements for an affordable housing project,” according to the document submitted last week to the city.

Both buildings will have separate entrances from Southeast 120th Avenue and Fifth Street. The development would have 275 parking spaces with an average of 1.2 parking spaces per unit.

The larger of the two buildings would have about 130,000 to 175,000 square feet within four to five stories and be built with wood framing. The smaller building would be about 60,000 to 80,000 square feet on three to four stories and be built with wood framing over one level of concrete. Each building would likely be between 40 and 50 feet tall. Parking for the smaller building would be provided under the building on the ground level.

The property was sold earlier this year for $2.55 million, according to Clark County records.
