Local law enforcement cited 142 drivers for not paying close enough attention to the road during a recent statewide emphasis focused on distracted driving.
The Battle Ground, La Center, Ridgefield, Washougal and Vancouver police departments and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office sent out extra patrols focused on distracted driving for two weeks starting April 2.
Officers pulled over 594 drivers, according to a Vancouver Police Department Facebook post. They wrote up a total of 276 citations, of which 142 related to distracted driving. They also arrested 36 people.
