Vancouver Public Schools announced administrative changes for the 2019-2020 school year, including principal swaps and administrative office changes.
Jim Gray, principal at Skyview High School, will move to the district office as its executive director of teaching and learning for high schools. Gray will also oversee district safety and athletics.
Andy Meyer, associate principal of Fort Vancouver High School Center for International Studies, will replace Gray. Kirstin Kunihisa, dean of students at Fort Vancouver, will replace Meyer.
Fort Vancouver High School Principal Jody ViDelco will move to Jason Lee Middle School as principal. Current Jason Lee Principal Curt Scheidel will become principal at Fort Vancouver.
Mick Hoffman, assistant superintendent for facilities and operations, is leaving the district to lead the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. AJ Panter, who oversees facilities, will be director of facilities and transportation, absorbing some of Hoffman’s responsibilities.
Debra Hale, executive director of teaching and learning for elementary schools, will absorb oversight of early childhood programs. Chris Olsen, executive director of teaching and learning, will oversee middle schools and absorb oversight of curriculum, instruction and assessment.
The district noted that the changes do not increase costs in the district’s administrative budget. The west Vancouver school district expects to eliminate five central office administration positions as part of its $17 million package of budget cuts.
The 23,000-student school district has about $324 million in general fund expenditures this school year.
