Woodland — Love Your Library, a fundraiser held for the Woodland Community Library Building Fund, raised more than $31,000. The fundraiser, held at Peterson’s Red Barn, featured live music by Pride of the North Bank, a silent auction, a paddle raise and appetizers, desserts, and beverages. Jane and Kenton Erwin were co-chairs for the event. “I knew long before the evening ended that it was a huge success,” said Shirley Clukey, president of Friends of the Woodland Library. “The love for the library displayed that night has moved us much closer to a bigger, better library in Woodland.” The current library in Woodland is in a two-story house built in 1909. The new building, to be located at 828 Goerig St., will provide more materials, resources, ADA accessibility, internet and computer access and additional space for meetings, study, programs and workshops. Woodland is one of a few small cities in the Clark County area working with Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries to build a bigger library.
