Battle Ground — The Battle Ground chapter of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs planted 108 blue pinwheels in a garden for awareness of child abuse. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Pinwheels are a symbol of child happiness, and child abuse awareness is part of the federation’s focus on domestic violence. The garden is on the west lawn of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 14208 N.E. 249th St., Battle Ground, where the congregation offers a preschool.
