The Clark College baseball team came away from Coos Bay, Ore., with an NWAC South series split against Southwestern Oregon.

After winning twice on Friday, the Penguins were swept in the Saturday doubleheader, losing 12-9 and 4-1.

In the first game for Clark, freshman Jeremy Martin, a Ridgefield High grad, went 4 for 5 with an RBI double and three runs scored. Mountain View High grad Lucas Gregory went 3 for 5 with a two-run double, and Nicholas Markantonatos was 3 for 3 with a double and three RBI.

Clark was held to three hits with 10 strikeouts in the second game loss.

The Penguins (13-13, 2-2) are next scheduled to make up a previously rained out doubleheader with Linn-Benton on Monday at Albany, Ore.
