Orchards — On March 8, Orchards KinderCare Learning Center prekindergarten teacher Kimberly Green was hosting a Dr. Seuss party with her students so they could celebrate one of their favorite authors. The guests at the party were leaders from KinderCare’s corporate office in Portland, who were there to surprise her with KinderCare Education’s Legacy Award and a $5,000 check. She is the 71st teacher to earn this award from KinderCare Education since the program began in 2008. “Legacy Award winners like Kimberly are masterful teachers who have an extraordinary ability to connect and communicate with children and families,” said Elanna Yalow, KinderCare’s chief academic officer. “These educators are real superheroes, role models and mentors within their communities. Their passion inspires children to develop confidence as lifetime learners, and that’s what our legacy is all about.”
