Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Orchards woman Sunday on suspicion of murder in connection to the death of her 75-year-old mother.

Asenka Miller Wilber, 50, had been living with her mother, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, and reported on Thursday that her mother died. The sheriff’s office did not identify the mother.

The sheriff’s office said deputies responded to their home in Orchards, 14308 N.E. 80th St., to investigate the death, and found the mother with obvious injuries to her face and head, and another possible injury to her wrist.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office examined the woman’s body and found additional injuries, the sheriff’s office said. After a search of the home, interviews with the Wilber and other family members, deputies arrested Wilber Sunday on suspicion of second-degree murder.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation was ongoing.
