I can tell you that this week’s weather is about as good as it gets in early fall, bar none. What more could you ask for? Clear beautiful blue skies, sunshine, nice breezes and for the most part, smiles on everyone’s faces.
We had the full harvest moon this week, which was spectacular. From the coastal beaches to the rugged Cascades fair weather abounds. It certainly makes for an easy forecast for us weather folks. Now the wrinkle. Always a wrinkle, isn’t there?
Nice weather cannot last this late in the year, it seems, and of course the wrinkle will show up over the weekend. Two lows, one sliding south from British Columbia and another moving up from California, will break down our high pressure and usher in cooler weather and cloudiness. A good chance of showers is in the offing. However, just how long they will last and the rainfall amounts remains up in the air, so to speak.
Based on what I see late Wednesday, I don’t think we will get much in the way of measurable rain, maybe a tenth of an inch is possible. Of course, we will have to wait and see how things develop, so as always keep a weather eye to the west and ears to the forecast if you have outdoor plans this weekend into early next week.
