Angels of God Food Pantry seeks volunteers with a current Washington food-handler’s permit to help at Memorial Lutheran Church and Living Hope Chapel. There are various duties and shifts, including on Sundays.
Clark College seeks volunteers, 16 and older and who like to cook, to help with cooking classes in the continuing education programs. Cooking school volunteers assist the instructor with prep work and may assist with the in-house camera. A commitment of four shifts per month is requested.
Clark College Genealogical Society seek volunteers to help others learn about the history of their families. The ability to use a computer and do basic internet searches is helpful, but not required.
Catholic Community Services seeks volunteer drivers to help drive low-income, elderly, or disabled people to medical appointments, to the grocery store, or to other essential errands. Must have a clean driving record, reliable car, and insurance. Mileage reimbursement is available.
North County Community Food Bank in Battle Ground seeks volunteers to stock shelves, inspect food items, prep orders, assist new clients, take donations, unload trucks, vacuum and clean.
Volunteer Connections seeks adult volunteers for its pen pal project, to write one letter per month during the school year to a fifth-grade pen pal. Volunteers must commit to writing letters monthly and to attending the end-of-the-year dessert party at the student’s school. The party is the only time pen pals meet. The Winter Hospitality Overflow will kick off its 16th season, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 5607 N..E Gher Road, Vancouver, where past and new volunteers can learn about volunteer opportunities for the 2018-2019 season.
From November through March, WHO seeks churches, service groups, and interested community members to volunteer from two to seven nights in a row, with each shift four to five hours long. Training is provided weekly at both WHO locations: St. Andrew and St. Paul Lutheran churches. Volunteer must submit to a background check.
