Union moves to No. 1 in Class 4A in lastest Associated Press prep football polls

Union joined Hockinson as top-ranked prep football teams from Clark County, according to the latest Associated Press state media football polls released Wednesday.

Union, fresh off a 41-9 win over Chiawana, received five of 10 first-place votes to barely edge out Mount Si of Snoqualmie for the top spot in Class 4A.

Union received 93 points. Mount Si, which had three first-place votes, received 92 points. Puyallup, Union’s opponent on Friday at McKenzie Stadium, received two first-place votes and came in third with 81 points.

Camas, following its last-second loss to Bellevue, fell to No. 10 in the 4A rankings.

Hockinson was again the unanimous choice for the No. 1 team in Class 2A for a second consecutive week. The Hawks received all 10 first-place votes.

Mountain View came in at No. 7 in the Class 3A.
