THE WEEK THAT WAS
Clark remained unbeaten in the Northwest Athletic Conference South Region with a 5-0 thrashing of Southwestern Oregon in Coos Bay on Saturday. Sarah Teubner scored just 1:40 into the match. Samantha Rosenkranz (Union HS) doubled the lead four minutes later. Turner Joy and Natalie Paul added goals before halftime. Kayla Beard (Battle Ground HS) completed the scoring in the 63rd minute as Beard tallied her second assist. Clark (6-1-0, 5-0-0) outshot Southwestern Oregon 29-3.

The Penguins host the bottom two teams in the NWAC South. Clackamas (1-5-2) visits at 12 p.m. Saturday. Chemeketa (1-9-0) arrives for a 1:30 match Wednesday.

Clark lost 2-1 to Lane on Saturday in Eugene, Ore., falling to 1-5-1 overall and 1-3-0 in the NWAC South Region. After the Titans pulled ahead on two second-half goals, Nick Erickson (Washougal HS) scored for Clark in the 84th minute.

Clark hosts two of the NWAC South Region’s top teams. Southwestern Oregon (4-1-1) visits on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Chemeketa (8-1-0) arrives on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. match
Volleyball
THE WEEK THAT WAS
Clark opened NWAC South Region play with two home victories. Friday, the Penguins beat Umpqua in four sets (15-25, 25-14, 27-25, 25-14). Jordan Johnson had 14 kills and Olivia White (Skyview HS) added 10. Mary Schorn had 25 digs. Saturday, Clark won a five-set thriller over Southwestern Oregon (25-13, 25-10, 23-25, 23-25, 15-11). White had a team-high 10 kills. Megan Hess (Battle Ground HS) and Brooke Mayberry each had three aces. Wednesday, Clark fell in three sets to Linn-Benton (34-32, 25-21, 25-13). Laurel Davidson had a team-high nine kills.

Clark (11-13, 2-1) faces Lane on Friday in Eugene before hosting Chemeketa on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Cross Country
THE WEEK THAT WAS
Clark competed at the Ken Garland Classic at Saint Martin’s University on Saturday in Lacey. Micah Goff (Union HS) was the top finisher in 58th place, covering the 8,000 meter course in 29 minutes flat. Kyle Bear (Heritage) finished 84th in 29:48. Nicky Figueras was the fastest Clark runner in the women’s race, finishing 56th. She covered the 5,000 meter course in 21:37. Elsa Temme finished 79th in 23:37.

Clark will compete at the Willamette Invite on Saturday in Salem, Ore.
