Susan Anderson was named the new manager of Clark County’s Animal Protection and Control Code Enforcement Services departments. Previously, she was employed by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office as the senior deputy fire marshal for 13 years. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oregon State University and is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration. Anderson started in the position on Sept. 17.

Jacob Pierron joined Davidson & Associates Insurance Agency of Vancouver, 610 Esther St., Suite 101, as a business agent. He recently moved to Portland after graduating from Miami University of Ohio and spent four years in the insurance industry in Columbus, Ohio. Max Ault will join Washington State University Vancouver’s staff as assistant vice chancellor for strategic partnerships on Feb. 1. Ault, an alumnus of the university, will be responsible for engaging the university with businesses and individuals in the Vancouver-Portland area on the topics of research, partnerships, internships, philanthropy and student recruitment. He previously worked at the university on contract last spring as part-time assistant to the chancellor for strategic partnerships. Additionally, Ault currently is the interim president of the Columbia River Economic Development Council.

Sarah Cooke, a membership engagement and communications specialist at the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, was chosen the winner of the DIY Marketing Center’s first T-shirt design contest. The DIY Marketing Center, 1101 Broadway, Suite 110, offers classes and coaching to local small businesses. Cooke’s design featured a light bulb to represent ideas and innovation. T-shirts adorned with the design will be given to volunteers at the DIY Marketing Center’s annual members-only conference, Inspiration U: Prosperity & Profitability Modeling, which is Sept. 28-29. Kristen Fanning, a 2016 graduate of Washington State University Vancouver, was hired as a manager of the school’s Business Growth Mentor and Analysis Program, also known as MAP. The program, created in 2011, works to help local small businesses and entrepreneurs and provides opportunities for students at WSU’s Carson College of Business. Fanning will oversee the pro bono student consultantcy, a monthly small-business forum and educational course for small-business owners. Fanning received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and focused on management information systems. Following graduation, she interned at Adidas and was then hired to work in financial reporting and business analytics. The Clark College Music Department hired Doug Harris as its new director of bands. He previously was the director of bands at the collegiate level at Western Kentucky University, Santa Clara University and Southern Utah University, and at the high school level in Florida. At Clark College, he’s the director of the school’s Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble, in addition to teaching music history and jazz appreciation courses. Harris also is the director of the annual Jazz Festival held in January. He received a bachelor’s degree in music education at University of Florida, and a master’s and doctorate degree in arts from University of Northern Colorado. He started Sept. 1.

Camas-area resident and Oregon National Air Guard Col. Donna M. Prigmore was promoted to the rank of brigadier general on Aug. 5, at the Portland Air National Guard base. Prigmore became the first woman in the Oregon Air National Guard to be promoted to the rank of brigadier general and first female in the Oregon National Guard to become a general officer as a traditional, part-time Guardsman. Gov. Kate Brown officiated Prigmore’s oath of office. Most recently, she served as director of strategic plans and programs for the Oregon Air National Guard. She has more than 35 years of military service, having begun her Air Force career in 1982. Prigmore received a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University.

Ann Wheelock was named the interim director of the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, 4100 Plomondon St., Vancouver. Starting there on Sept. 17, she previously was the CEO of Columbia United Providers. She also previously served on the clinic’s board of directors. Wheelock succeeds Barbe West, who is leaving after nine years to be the executive director at Southwest Washington Accountable Community of Health. Wheelock has an interest in helping underserved populations receive access to health care.

Vickie Dalton has been rehired at RSV Building Solutions as its vice president of operations. She will work with her brother, Ron Frederiksen, to provide operational support for the company’s active projects while developing custom project-based business systems and operations. She returns to the company after working in a leadership role at DM2, a software company based in Vancouver. Dalton previously worked at RSV for 18 years. RSV Building Solutions, 1115 Esther St. Suite A, is a locally owned design/build contractor.
