Fort Vancouver scored its first points of the season, but will head into 3A Greater St. Helens League play 0-4.
Getting on the board led coach Neil Lomax to be optimistic.
“These guys aren’t quitting,” He said. “These seniors have been through a difficult 2-3 years, (they) haven’t won a game, (they) haven’t scored points … The guys that are coming out (to play), are absolute warriors, and I love them for it. We’re transforming these boys into men, and if we can use football to do that, it’s great.”
Isaac Martinez’s 70 yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter got Fort Vancouver their first points of the season.
Niko Liufau added a 12-yard touchdown run to pull the Trappers within 21-14 at halftime.
