A forum scheduled for Monday will discuss ways to best utilize the Affordable Housing Fund and increase the city’s affordable housing supply.

The forum will take place between 9 and 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Vancouver Washington.

“We encourage prospective Vancouver Affordable Housing Fund applicants and others interested in affordable housing development to attend,” said Community Development Program Manager Peggy Sheehan in a press release. “City staff will be available to talk about the affordable housing fund and answer zoning questions.”

Staff will talk about funding partnership opportunities with groups including the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, Washington State Department of Commerce, Impact Capital and the Vancouver Housing Authority.

To reserve a seat, email Sheehan at peggy.sheehan@cityofvancouver.us.

Applications for affordable housing funding are available. Grants are available for projects focused on preserving or creating housing for those earning 50 percent or less of the area median income. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 31.
