City seeks applicants to fill vacancy on airport noise committee

Vancouver — The city of Vancouver is looking for applicants to fill one midterm vacancy on the Portland International Airport Citizen Noise Advisory Committee. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Monday. Applicants must reside within city limits, and the appointee will serve the remainder of the current term, which expires Nov. 30, and will also serve a subsequent full term, expiring in November 2021. The committee is the official forum to address the community’s aircraft noise concerns, made up of members appointed by local jurisdictions and the Port of Portland, which operates PDX. Vancouver has two members on the committee. The committee typically meets from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the second Thursday of every odd-numbered month at the airport.
