Kangas family holds 70th family reunion in Battle Ground

Battle Ground — The Kangas family held its 70th annual family reunion on Aug. 18 at Lewisville Park in Battle Ground. The family has held its reunions annually at Lewisville’s Juniper picnic area for all 70 years. More than 80 people attended the family reunion this year, coming from as far away as Arizona, while about 40 percent of the family still lives locally. There was talk that this would be the last reunion due to age and distance, but the family then set a date for a 2019 reunion.
