The Hockinson girls soccer team opened 2A Greater St. Helens League play downing Columbia River, last year’s 2A state runner-up, 5-1, Tuesday at Hockinson.
Four different Hawks scored goals, including two by Alyssa Pfaender, who scored the game’s first goal at the 18th minute mark. She also made a penalty kick in the 53rd minute.

• Emily Phelps, Fort Vancouver girls cross country, finished first to lift the Trappers to a dual meet win over Prairie, covering the 4,000- meter David Douglas Park course in 15:01.
• Emily Johnson, Washougal volleyball, had 21 assists 13 digs, 3 aces and 4 kills as the Panthers opened 2A Greater St. Helens League play with a 3-0 win at R.A. Long.
• Emma VIllaluz, Camas volleyball, led the Papermakers with 24 assists and four kills in a sweep of Kelso.
• Mollie Doyle, Mountain View volleyball, posted 23 digs, 13 assists, eight kills and a pair of serving aces in the Thunder’s sweep of Heritage.
• Annika Farley, Ridgefield girls soccer, scored four of her team’s five goals as the Spudders won the 2A GSHL opener over Woodland 5-0.
• Jasmine Bates, Mountain View girls cross country, finished first in a meet with Kelso and Heritage, covering the 5,000 meter course in 20:01.
• Shun Yamaguchi, Mountain View boys cross country, won the meet against Kelso and Heritage, covering the 5,000 meter course in 16:54.
• Drew Weber, Fort Vancouver boys cross country, placed first in a dual meet against Prairie, covering the 4,000 meter course in 13:30.
• Callie Rheaume, Camas girls soccer, assisted two of the Papermakers’ goals in a shutout of 6A Sherwood (Ore.).
• Hannah Moats, King’s Way Christian girls soccer, posted eight saves in a 1-1 tie with 4A Skyview.
• Katie Vroman, Prairie volleyball, had 11 kills, 10 digs and four blocks in the Falcons’ sweep of Union.
• Terra Sloniker and Quin Wiseman, La Center girls soccer, each had a goal and an assist in the Wildcats’ 4-0 victory over Fort.
• Julia Baiar, Battle Ground volleyball, had 23 assists, six aces and five digs in the Tigers’ four-set victory over Evergreen.
• Rylie Reeves and Alicia Wallingford, Columbia River volleyball, combined for 18 kills and six blocks in a four-set win over Hockinson.
Kyle Ganoung, Battle Ground boys cross country, was first across the line in a four-team meet at McKenzie Stadium, covering 2.43 miles in 13:38.
