Evergreen Habitat for Humanity raises more than $125,000 at fundraiser

Esther Short — Evergreen Habitat for Humanity’s Annual Raising the Roof benefit breakfast was attended by 625 people and raised $125,700. Proceeds will go to benefit Evergreen Habitat for Humanity and be used to build the remaining four homes for local low-income families at McKibbin Commons, Habitat’s newest subdivision off of Middle Way. The Rev. Chris Montovino emceed the event, which also featured a video showing a day in the life of a family that lives in a new home at McKibbin Commons. Chris Nielson was named the 2018 Volunteer of the Year, Mojgan Kasraei received the Ray Johnson Award and St. Andrew Lutheran Church received the Faith in Action award at the fundraiser, held Sept. 6 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington.
