CAMAS — The Camas-Washougal Fire Department is hosting its open house and health and safety fair next week, and area residents are encouraged to attend.

The open house and fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 22, at Fire Station 42, 4321 N.W. Parker St., Camas.

The day’s events include live kitchen fire demonstrations, a vehicle fire demonstration and a house fire simulation. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office will also be on hand to show off the skills of its K-9 unit.

“Over 20 local agencies and businesses will have exhibits focused on health, safety and emergency preparedness, including NW Natural, who joins the event as part of their ‘Get Ready’ emergency preparedness campaign,” the fire department said in a news release.

The exhibits will include fire extinguisher and CPR demonstrations, according to the fire department.

The event is family-friendly and free.
