Vancouver man accused of reckless driving in Hwy. 14 crash

Reckless driving is being blamed for a Saturday afternoon crash that injured the driver of a Ford SUV.

The incident occurred about 1:37 p.m. on westbound Highway 14 at 32nd Avenue in Washougal.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a Ford SUV driven by David N. Trachuk, 27, of Vancouver, collided with a tractor-trailer rig driven by Randall E. Knowland, 54, of Vancouver.

According to the state patrol, Trachuk pulled onto the highway in front of Knowland’s tractor-trailer, then passed him on the right shoulder before suddenly slowing down. He faces a charge of reckless driving. He was also reported injured and taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries.

His SUV was reportedly totaled; the tractor-trailer was driven from the scene.
