Reckless driving is being blamed for a Saturday afternoon crash that injured the driver of a Ford SUV.

The incident occurred about 1:37 p.m. on westbound Highway 14 at 32nd Avenue in Washougal.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a Ford SUV driven by David N. Trachuk, 27, of Vancouver, collided with a tractor-trailer rig driven by Randall E. Knowland, 54, of Vancouver.

According to the state patrol, Trachuk pulled onto the highway in front of Knowland’s truck, then passed him on the right shoulder before suddenly slowing down. He faces a charge of reckless driving. He was also reported injured and taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries.

His SUV was reportedly totaled; the tractor-trailer was driven from the scene.
